We are a couple of creatives, who are lucky enough to live and work in the beautiful village of Clovelly on the rugged North Devon coast, close to the border with Cornwall.
 

Michael is an artist and printmaker. Inspired by the coast, the beautiful cliffs and ever changing seas, he creates paintings, giclée prints and hand cut lino prints on his Victorian press.
 

Woo is a textile artist, creating printed and painted textiles, hand stitched textile art, clothing, home furnishings, accessories and creatures using vintage linen and fabrics. Almost everything she uses is vintage, antique, repurposed or recycled.

Together, we are The Mermaid’s Purse, and we’re delighted to bring you a unique range of decorative items and gifts for you and your home, handmade right here in North Devon.
 

Our online store is gradually being filled up with loveliness so keep checking back.

Our bricks and mortar shop right on Clovelly’s famous cobbled High Street opened at Easter 2025 and has been a long held dream for both of us.
