About Us…

We are a couple of creatives, who are lucky enough to live in the beautiful village of Clovelly on the rugged North Devon coast, close to the border with Cornwall.

Michael is the artist and printmaker. Inspired by the coast, the beautiful cliffs and ever changing seas, he creates paintings, giclée prints and hand cut linoprints on his Victorian press.

Woo is the textile artist, creating printed and painted textiles, hand stitched textile art, clothing, home furnishings and accessories using vintage linen and fabrics. Almost everything she uses is vintage, antique, repurposed or recycled.

Together, we are The Mermaid’s Purse, and we’re delighted to bring you a unique range of decorative items and gifts for you and your home, handmade right here in North Devon.
